Travel to Åre by bus

The ski bus takes you conveniently around the Åre ski areas, from Duved in the west to Åre Björnen in the east. The ski bus starts before the lifts open and continues to run at approximately one hour intervals until the lifts close, with a break during lunch. These buses are free of charge if you have a valid lift pass. The bus runs from December to April.

Länstrafiken Jämtland is the local public transport company that runs regular bus routes within the Åre municipality.

Årebussen is an express bus to Åre from Stockholm via Uppsala, Gävle, Sundsvall and Östersund, during the winter season. It takes the same route on the return journey to Stockholm. Prebooking is obligatory.

The train stops in the heart of the Åre and in the neighboring towns. Taking the train to Åre is a more environmental option.
