Åre might seem to be a remote place in the wilderness of Scandinavia. That is true but it is quite easy to get here. For international guests there are two nearby airports, Östersund - Åre airport and Trondheim Vaernes airport. We can arrange transfer, including by helicopter, from both airports. In the heart of the village and in all major resorts around the fog stops. For a more environmental choice, take the train to Åre.

TÅGTRANSFER
Åre train transfer is available for booking to all trains that operate Åre station and Duved station during the winter season. The transport is by bus or taxi and stops at fixed stops at a fixed price.

Flight

In connection with Åre, there are two international airports, Åre Östersund Airport approximately one hour from Åre and Trondheim Airport Værnes in Norway is approximately two hours from Åre center. Both airports have transfers during the winter season. From 16 December to April 2018, the airline Easyjet will also operate a route every Saturday between Åre Östersund Airport and Copenhagen Kastrup.

Åre Östersund Airport is Jämtland's largest airport and has both national and international connections. It is located on Frösön, 85 km southeast of Åre, 11 km west of Östersund city center.

The ski bus
With the ski bus you can easily get around in our ski area from Duved to the west to Åre Björnen in the east. The ski bus starts before the lift opens and runs until they close approximately once a hour with a little longer stay during lunch. All cross-country skiers go free, as the Ski Pass card is valid as a ticket.

Åre municipality is operated by regular bus lines via Länstrafiken in Jämtland County.

Express bus winter time to Åre with departure from Stockholm via Uppsala, Gävle, Sundsvall and Östersund to Åre and vice versa. Booking is mandatory.
